Description
This medication is used in men who do not make enough of a natural substance called testosterone. In males, testosterone is responsible for many normal functions, including growth and development of the genitals, muscles, and bones. It also helps cause normal sexual development (puberty) in boys.
Use of testosterone enanthate has been shown to significantly increase strength within 6-12 weeks of administration (2, 9), however, it is unclear if the ergogenic benefits are evident in less than 6 weeks.
Common side effects (in men or women) may include:
- breast swelling;
- acne, increased facial or body hair growth, male-pattern baldness;
- increased or decreased interest in sex;
- headache, anxiety, depressed mood;
- increased blood pressure;
- numbness or tingly feeling;
- abnormal liver function tests;
